RIP MUA Extraordinaire - Roxanna Floyd

I was shocked when I read on Sharon Quinn's blog that Make Up Artist, Roxanna Floyd had passed. Many people in the industry are well aware of Floyd's creative genius. She was often praised for her gifts in the Make-up World. She has created magic on many faces that we all love and adore. Some of her celebrity clients include Queen Latifah, Whitney Houston, and Angela Bassett. She was on ANTM with the Queen. According to Quinn's blog, Ms. Floyd was instrumental in developing the Queen Latifah's Collection by Cover Girl. I really love the bronzers from that collection.

Roxanna Floyd will be greatly missed. My heartfelt prayers go out to all of her family and friends.

Congratulations To Mo'Nique!

I want to congratulate Mo'Nique on her Golden Globe and LA Film Critics Awards for best supporting actress in "Precious". I am so proud! Look out for the Oscar. It is definitely hers.

I actually met Mo'Nique in 2006. She is so humble and appreciative. She deserves all of the accolades. Again congratulations!

My 1 Year Anniversary and Happy Founder's Day to the Phenomenal Women Of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated

January 15, 2010 marks the 1 year anniversary of my blog. 2009 was a very eventful year for me. I lost both my mom and grandmother to cancer in less than 2 months apart. As a result of those events I did not blog as often as I would have liked. As I reflect on my life and focus on my future, I am going to live my life as if it is "golden". I have come to realize that life is truly just a moment in time. I am at a lost for words at the devastation that has occured in Haiti. Haiti is my grandfather's home. We just recieved word yesterday that his brother's oldest son had succumbed. Please continue to keep my family and the people of Haiti in your prayers. Most importantly, please donate to the American Red Cross!

Also, Happy Founder's Day to my Sorors! 90 years strong!

It's Awards Season! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just love this time of the year, because it is Awards Show Time! I love to see what my favorite celebities are wearing. I also love to see the make-up looks that the Stars are showcasing. Last night the Peoples Choice Awards aired on CBS. I must say that my favorite Brown Beauties did not disappoint. Am I noticing a new trend for Spring 2010? Taraji, Mary and Niecy all wore dresses and gowns that were off one shoulder.

My 2010 Beauty Resolutions

j0438382[1]
I was inspired by Jamie from Rural Glamour to post my 2010 Beauty

Resolutions.

The List:
1. To take better of my skin. I have to admit I am sometimes to lazy to wash  the make up off of my face.
2.To drink more water. I am going to aim for my 8 glasses a day.
3.To due more looks of the day and post them to my blog. Plus, I want to build my blog and make it better.
4.To perfect the perfect brow. LOL!
5.To be more open to do others makeup. I have a girlfriend who is a stylist and she is always asking me to come to her salon and do the makeup for some of her clients. I always turn her down. I will overcome my nerves and explore working with others.

Review – Carol’s Daughter Almond Cookie Body and Bath Oil

Technorati Tags:

I have heard such good things about Carol’s Daughter products. One of the gifts I got for Christmas was Some Carol’s Daughter goodies. I received Almond Cookie Body and Bath Oil, Almond Cookie Sea Salt Body Scrub, and Ecstasy Shea Body Lotion. All I can say is that all of the products smell so divine. I have not had a chance to use the Almond Cookie Sea Salt Body Scrub or Ecstasy Shea Body Lotion. I used the Almond Cookie Body and Bath Oil after my shower and was really pleased at how well it moisturized my extremely dry skin. Plus it had me smelling very scrumptious. LOL! I will definitely be buying more of Carol’s Daughter products in the future.  Please visit site and explore the variety of products plus there are how to videos on the site.
